TG might be your best bet as they have reasonable coverage of Northern Europe and fly to Chengdu but award seats in business in what will probably be the Easter holiday period or equally lower fares will be next to impossible to find.

FWIW, while TG don't have a great reputation, I've never had a bad experience of them and transit at BKK is OK, better than quite a few places in Europe.
