Also, I read somewhere that it’s only for layovers from one RJ operated flight to another. I’m flying ARN-AMM-DOH-CMB in J on a RJ ticket, but only the ARN-AMM leg is operated by RJ. Anyone with experience on this and whether they still would provide the free hotel? If not is there anywhere to sleep in the airport?
Also I’m doing the same flights in reverse some days later and planning on going into Amman on the stop with the longest layover (arriving in AMM at 22 leaving next day at 13:45). Any suggestions for what hotel is the most convenient if I want to spend a few early morning hours to see something in Amman (and what to see?).
An update to this query as I just did this journey. The answer is no. They don't offer the transit hotel as the next flight is not a RJ operated one (QR).

I inquired about the price for the transit hotel and they quoted me 150 JOD which is totally not worth it given what your provided with.

There is a "hotel" inside the airport where you can book a room by hours starting from 4hours upwards. The prices vary depending on how long you stay. But again the prices weren't very reasonable (if I recall correctly it started off at $120 for 4hours).

The final option is to go to the lounge; but this has an element of risk. Because the next journey is operated by QR, the earliest you can go into the lounge is 3hours prior to the flight. I was very lucky that the guy at the reception counter said I can go in 12hours earlier and would overlook the 3hour policy given the ticket was booked with RJ. However, if you do this, you are at the mercy of the lounge staff member. Just a note, the lounge is quiet noisy (some blaring emergency sound seemed to go off ever 20mins or so, there's birds chirping and you can hear the people from downstairs so I would recommend you pack some ear plugs! Also keep the eye mask as the lights are very bright).

Just FYI, my flight was delayed by 3 hours due to the flight from AMM leaving late. In a way, it turned out to be for the better as it reduced my transit time. I think if it had arrived on time then the lounge staff may have been less accommodating (the lounge was also not very busy at the time I went in - around 1am).
