BA vs QF

After flying both a BA NCW and QF Skybed segment between LHR - MEL/SYD, I have to say that I have to give full marks to QF. I have to admit that I also was very dissapointed with BA. Without trying to completely bring down the NCW product, I think the following features of the Skybed product seem to be a lot better:
  • NCW seats are too short which are not good for those of us over about 6ft
  • Catering (strangely enough) seems better on QF
  • Drinks seem better on QF
  • I like the fact that QF offers champagne before take-off
  • I thought the new LED lighting system was going to be rather naf, but after experiencing it, I have to say I prefer it
  • QF cabin staff refer to you by name which is always a nice touch
  • bathroom facilities (minus of course the MB products) are light years ahead on QF
  • very dissapointed with the blankets and pillows on BA, although I hear these are being updated
  • QF are unlikely to upgrade passengers therefore you are more likely to have a quieter cabin

Had a few other complaints/observations, however I think those relate more to the actual crew I had rather than of the BA product itself.

Anyone else agree with the above points?

Have not flown J on CX since before they introduced their new cabin so not really in a position to comment about CX although I do remember their catering to be good.
