Confusion on redemption booking
I'm attempting to book an awards flight on Singapore airlines with Amax points that I've already transferred over as I found the flight that I'm going to book. The booking will be for two adults and one infant. I've run into a few issues during the booking process:
First, there's no option to add a lap infant when redeeming points for Singapore airlines. I called Singapore airlines support number, and the representative told me to book just the two adults first then call in and the infant will be added after the fact. Is that correct or is there another process that I need to follow?
Second, when I created my account, I only entered my first name on my profile as it didn't specify adding your full First and Middle name. During the booking process in the Passenger Details page, the Singapore airlines site automatically enters the info from your profile and adds it to the booking information. I got freaked out by the message saying that you cannot edit the information once you submit to payment, since my middle name is not included in the First/Given name field. However, I cannot edit the information because the Singapore airlines website is pulling the information from my profile. I called Singapore airline support, and they told me, after an extended conversation because they were confused that I could not edit my name, that they would be able to add the middle name after the fact. Is that correct?
Lastly, during the passenger details input page, the customer support rep said I cannot just add my wife for a redemption booking, and that she needs to create an account in order for my points to be used for her as Passenger Two for the booking. I was extremely confused at this because the website allows you to "Add Nominee" and you can just enter information in the blank fields as needed. Did the customer support representative inform me incorrectly, or is this an actual Singapore airlines policy?
