I reached Bronze recently and had the most awkward welcome from the CSM on a recent LHR-OTP points run. First he calls me by name and "i have an important message for you" then welcome to Bronze, tells me about it, and how its a very useful feature to have because he takes the MAN-LHR shuttle and he can use the business check-in desks. Me, carrying only a backpack and no checked bags, really appreciates that feature. The guy next to me looked at me, i just said "that was awkward" and he smiles.

On the return, its the same crew and CSM and i really hoped he didnt recognise me.... he did. This time he said "welcome back mister surname, you're flying back already? you must be important?". This time the entire business cabin heard and the engines were off as we were de-icing. The person in the row in front starts laughing and i sink into my seat mumbling awkward again.
