For several months, frequently when trying to buy points through
https://storefront.points.com/IHG-re...club/en-US/buy, I have been getting this error:
Error: There was a problem with your authentication information, please try again.
I've tried across multiple IHG accounts, credit cards, browsers, IPs, etc... nothing seems to help and the error is quite random. What makes it worse is that my cards are actually getting charged and the charge is not released for over a week.
Calling into IHG support at 1 877 660 8550 also doesn't seem to help. The representatives get the same error when trying to buy points, and also don't seem to know what is going on.
Also, last time the transactions actually worked, several IHG accounts of my family members were locked for suspected fraud—and it took weeks of back-and-forth with IHG support on email to get them unlocked.
Has anyone encountered this issue? And any idea how to fix?
