Normally membership years run from (or is to?) 8th of the month. Mine, for example, ends 8 September (and the card expires on the last day of the next calendar month). If your year end is December the two flights quoted would have been in different membership years. Or if the card expired on 31 December, the full amount would credit to the new year.
