You have to ask the KE FAs a few times to turn down the cabin temp. Each time they will turn it down by a degree. After a few asks it should start to get less oppressively hot. And if all they give you is a glass of ice water, ask them to please also turn the cabin temp down, not just give you cold water.

As for food, there is plenty to eat inbetween meals. Check the menu for options and ask.

But yes, the small portions, extremely long drawn out meal service, and oppressively hot cabin that makes it next to impossible to sleep are the downsides of KE (even in the dead cold of winter, you really need to wear shorts and your thinnest t-shirt to brave the sauna that is the KE aircraft and the equally bad and very hot and stuffy ICN airport).
