I am elite+ (Gold) on Delta. When I book KLM, there is no recognition of elite status until I book and pay - then I receive the seating and baggage benefit. On a Light Fare on KLM, I get free advance seat selection and a free checked bag.

I wanted to see how this is handled by ITA, so I made a booking (since cancelled) on a Light fare on the ITA website. I entered my Skymiles number during the booking process.

There was no visible benefit from the Elite status - the system still wanted to charge me ($140!) for a checked bag and for seat selection.

This could be the online system doesn't work, and I am entitled to the benefits, or it could be they don't provide any benefits on a Light Fare. Anyone know the status of elite benefits on ITA Light fares?
