Do people generally find that if the upgrade doesn't go through at the earliest time (3 days out, formerly 5 days out), the chances of it ever going through are slim? I haven't used SNAs too often, but when I have, if I didn't get the confirmation that they went through 5 days before arrival, the SNA never worked.
I had a 2 night stay on separate reservations at the end of December. The second night was much more expensive and the hotel busier, but the SNA cleared 5 days out. The cheaper first night cleared at 2 days. I think it’s luck of the draw. All of my SNAs cleared at the first attempt last year, first time I've had none left at year end.
