There are 12 737-900s and about 136 737-900ERs. The straight -900s have tail numbers ending in 401 through 412.

What did you find miserable about the 737-800? If it was legroom, each 737-800 has between 42 to 54 Economy+ seats with extra legroom.

There are a couple of 737-800s in United Next configuration and 7 or 8 more currently in conversion. Those airplanes will have the new seats, large space bins, and the large screens with video on demand.
