Most of the time, SNA cleared at the earliest time. Occasionally it was a day or so later. With NUA's only having a three day window, doesn't leave much time for them to clear regardless.
As I have noted in other threads, I sometimes book two reservations (a safety with a two queen room) and one with a NUA for an upgrade to a two bedroom suite or a two queen studio (primarily at TPS and RI). These are for family stays and I need at least two queen beds to accommodate us. If the NUA doesn't clear before the cancellation window, I have to resort to the safety reservation to ensure everyone has a bed. I am concerned about the smaller window for NUA's to clear versus cancellation window. My first data point with NUA's will be for an upcoming stay this April. NUA submitted for two bedroom suite or two queen bed studio at a TPS. Why a two queen studio requires a NUA is an entirely separate question. Anyway, I will see how it goes. Last year, for the first time, I was unable to use any of my SNA's. Hoping for better luck this year with NUA's. YMMV....
