You're not changing the name of the reservation. You're just asking the FD person to add your wife's name, so when she gets there they know it's legit. She will still have to present a credit card in her name and her ID, but that still won't change the name on the reservation.
Yes, I wasn’t expecting it to change the reservation, but I was wondering whether hotels might balk at it since they may be used to disallow it so people don’t sell their elite benefits or resell nights for the purpose of earning elite nights. I only did this once with Hyatt, many years ago, and they asked me to come to the front desk upon my arrival (but would give my wife a key in the meantime). I was actually legitimately arriving much later, so it wasn’t a problem for me to show up later.
How many stays does the 100% represent, and roughly how many different properties?
