I'm flying to Scotland this summer and have a couple options:
- ORD-EDI and EDI-ORD on a United 757 in E (well, E+) for $1800. No PE on the aircraft, and UA wants something like $10k for Polaris to which all I can say is hahahahahahahahahahha. Which to be honest is the same reaction I have for $1800 in coach but here we are. It's the only nonstop on the route.
- ORD-LHR-GLA and EDI-LHR-ORD on BA in premium econ with a real widebody for the TATL segments for $2600.
Which would you do?
I've only flown BA intra Europe (they charged me for a cup of tea!). But I figure they will be (marginally) nicer than domestic carriers in TATL premium economy. But I think the nonstop trumps things, even if I have to fly E.
I'm UA Gold and no other status anywhere, but I don't really care that much about chasing status.
