As already stated, Roxborough is very nice. You could also take 470 around to Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. Lots of hiking trails there. You'll take 470 to either place. It will be bad before 9am only to Red Rocks; but it will be terrible from either place if you leave after 3pm.

In Lone Tree, there is also Bluffs Regional Park. It's only 3 miles, but it has amazing views of the Front Range.

Be sure to watch the weather. If we have gotten a lot of rain/snow, the trails will be very muddy.
Thank you for the suggestions. We are going to stay around Lone Tree at a HP. We will add Bluffs to the list.
