Last night I upgraded our PP flight LIS-IAD to Polaris. On the 767-400ER. For $840 per person for an 8.5hr flight. Maybe high but it's good enough for me. I see United currently wants almost twice the miles for this trip RDU-LHR-LIS-IAD-RDU than when I booked it a few months ago. And upgrade price seems reasonable to me. I saw two different upgrade prices depending on where I was in the app. So when I saw a lower price again yesterday, I grabbed it.
Originally I was going to take one for the team and sit in the middle next to my husband and put him in 7L in the side window seat, with tray on the aisle, I think. But then I thought why not grab 6L for myself (instead of the middle), a seat with the tray by the window, even if oriented toward the aisle and not a "real" window seat. According to the Points Guy.

Do the FAs still insist on a dark cabin on a day time flight going west? I have not been in Polaris for years. And is there order meals ahead in Polaris these days? I believe we can access the TAP lounge as Polaris customers? Our economy flight LHR-LIS is with TAP.
Any advice about other places to sit? There are seats in row 2 and 3 on opposite sides of the plane. Would you be jostled during boarding trying to settle in? I picked rows 6/7 so as to not be too close to any noise from other cabins and be away from the toilets in the back.
I've attached the current seat map.
