Oh yeah - and the Air India Transfer desk counter only provided alternative tickets on standby. There were other people stuck from Bangkok and another location - and they would not issue/print tickets any earlier than 60 minutes prior departure - so all the time that you are stuck in Delhi - you cannot buy anthing except from a machine selling some cold snacks or water/lemonade. It is before the security check to enter the departure area. Absolutely ridiculous. The staff at the counter complaind to us that they work on long shifts and don't receive any food while working (and cannot take any food with them) so work very stressed. And the first flight that they wanted to book for us then said it's not bookable still was possible to buy tickets online on Emirates website - however business class only - so likely that economy was sold out - was the reason to not give us tickets on the earliest connection towards Vienna (funnily on that full flight from Kathmandu, besides us 4 no other passengers had international connections - so I cannot say anything about regional connections and how you are treated on them if missing a connection - but missing a connection on an international flight with AI in Delhi is worst case possible)
