one reason to keep the 2 cards is

i often have more than one room in a hilton. my idea is to keep the 2 cards. and than get the nights credited to the 2 cards. i.e if i have 4 rooms at the same time i should be able to get 2 rooms credited to every card right?

double dipping on the two gold cards may be is not really such i nice idea.


about combining , i will hit diamond this year for sure with one of the cards, so i can combine it than if i want to.

and as one of the cards is gold , unless i cancel my amex, i will credit the nights mostly to the normal earned gold status card.
