Correct. Pad Thai is kind of like Taco Bell for Mexicans / Sushi for the Japanese, not sure if that's a good comparison, but y'all get the idea... It's not something most people eat on a day to day basis...
I'm a local and fwiw I only go to Pad Thai when my farang friends are in town, lol
