Phad Thai is a classic Thai dish; the most famous place is Thipsamai close to Golden Mount/Wat Saket, but there are other branches

in Chinatown i would recommend the two classic Chinese restaurant Shangarila or Tai Seng, both not to be missed at the main Yaowarat road
or sample street food or in smaller open eatieres
I have been out with my old Thai school friends and now work colleagues and they never eat Phad Thai. I in fact asked them and they told me every time it is what the farang likes to eat. Either I have been had or the Thai's are promoting it as a popular Thai dish that they do not eat much but the foreigners like.
