Definitely in town. RER-B is the train that departs from Charles de Gaulle inside towards downtown - 30 min total, non-stop. A day pass will allow you to ride the RER-B and any sub or bus in the city.
Going to Paris and staying at the airport is a no-no. Enjoy Paris - it's lovely this time of the year... as any other time.
