I have a similar problem, except I have an additional night at the front end booked on points. I tried to get the reservations "merged" but the glob line/twitter was useless.
I ended up emailing the hotel about it and they said they would put a note on the reservation but couldn't guarantee it. This was particularly frustrating as the standard suite was, at the time of booking, available. Now it's not so we'll see what happens, worst case I move rooms after 1 day.
