Wow, annual FN cert also got 1099ed?!

Just checked DoC’s thread

here is the DP found today. The poster has none of the usual trigger yet rec’d a 1099 for $600. Chase told him it was the annual FN certs from his 2 hotel cards!

#1789559I received one for over 600 and one for a smaller amount. No referrals, account openings, closings, redemptions or fee waivers. No description on the 1099. I get one free hotel night a year on 2 cards which I didn’t even use. They have low point value as I don’t have the premium cards. After numerous phone calls it appears they are taxing these 2 nights at over 300 each. Crazy. I may cancel the cards.
