Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but sometimes it does work in our favour. It's happened to me 3-4 times over the years. One memorable time was at the St Regis Florence when there were zero suites available for sale for weeks leading up to our stay. Imagine my surprise when my SNA cleared at 5 days before arrival to a beautiful suite with a large outdoor terrace. I had a friend arriving a day after me who had his own reservation, and his SNA also cleared 5 days out even though there were no suites available on the website.
