The food offering amounts to set hot dishes which have to be ordered and a couple of cold dishes laid out. All very average. Temporary bar set up on edge of cafe, very makeshift. I am told once Italian restaurant moves up to 2nd floor lounge goes to basement with no natural light. I asked for a manager to discuss as this change was made over night and if I had known I would not have stayed here. She was very understanding and offered to send a 10 dollar bottle of wine to the room.
This is my last stay here.
Wow... this is unfortunate news. Sad that it is in the basement, but, did they say when the new lounge was opening?

EDIT: I contacted the hotel to see if they had any information on when the renovations would be finished. I have 10+ days booked there in April. But they are cancellable. It occurred to me that the Holiday Inn Golden Mile also has their lounge in the basement. It's been years since I was there, but I don't remember being bothered by it.
