I guess the options are staying really close to the airport, and take an early flight out, or taking a much later flight, and go into the city?
Suggest maybe looking at trip.com, and choosing the map, and see what you find acceptable.
I never stayed near PVG, only at SHA, so have no first hand recommendations.
This hotel is basically within the PVG grounds, but not the greatest. Convenient location, that's about it.

I'd be inclined to make a mini-Shanghai trip of it, go into town and stay at a nice hotel; then take my time to get back to the airport the next day.
