Seems doing Flight+Car bookings in many cases allow you to get around the 7 day minimum on many fares. I recall last year being able to do advanced bookings for long weekends (I like to leave Wed evenings and return Sunday) and have fares still be rather reasonable when booked well in advanced, but lately anything under 7 days no matter how far in advance is ~8K for J and 10K+ for F (these were for SEA-LHR but also checked other west coast gateways) which is just bonkers. If you book a 7 day trip F drops considerably to ~5-6K which is far more reasonable. But I've found I could get the same price by adding a car to the booking and still do a 3 night trip for example I have a 3 night/4 day trip booked next month that BA.com quoted F at 10.5K USD, but was $4,855 if I booked with a car. Similar for a July trip I was looking at for 7/17-7/21 , F fares are $5,300 for 7+ days and 10K for anything < 7 but booking flight+car allows for a 3 day trip that's roughly the same price as booking a 7 day trip:
If booked separately $10,333.90
Total discount - $4,551.90
Total price
$5,782.00

While the end result isn't a fare that's considerably lower than what you can find for these routes if you can do 7+ day trips, booking through this method does seem like quite the deal if you're after a shorter trip.
Not just with F fares but also Business and Economy. Booking an inclusive arrangement, not just BA Holidays but sometimes Expedia or other travel companies can get around the minimum stay or advance purchase rules because it's not a published fare underlying the booking.

I should point out though, that Avios might well be awarded distance-based rather than based on the purchase price. Of course the savings can be significant.
