I would ring BA proactively and ask for your preferred rebooking option now. The connection is now under the MCT as you say, and it may be a while before BA’s IT picks it up..
BA is unlikely to allow invol. rebooking unless already flagged as illegal connection at LHR. If no notice to pax yet, it seems that this connection has not been picked-up by BA as illegal.
