Main story here is that in Q4 of this year TG plans to install recliner seats in a 2-2 configuration and will seemingly market those as “Royal Silk.”
For now, hot meals guaranteed for “economy plus” along with alcohol on international routes and business class-like ground benefits i.e. priority check in, extra luggage allowance, lounge access, priority boarding, etc.
Side note: IIRC this is now officially the third kind of “premium economy” that TG has tried to sell? There were the real premium economy seats on A340, then the 77W J seats sold as PY on Scandinavian routes, and now this!
Also sold PE on the 743 and 744 in the J seats, and used the F seats as J on routes to Scandinavian destinations.
I also have a vague idea the the J cabin on the 777-200ER was trialled as PE to Moscow - which was a predominant leisure market. Maybe it was to somewhere else…
