Recently completed a three night stay, with the third night free, at Carmel Valley Ranch. I originally booked it a few weeks ago and exchanged a couple of messages with their concierge team via American Express's travel portal. I ended up cancelling the booking because of my partner's work conflict. But when their work schedule ended up clearing a couple days before the intended dates, I immediately rebooked. I sent a message to their concierge via the travel portal detailing the situation, a request for a complimentary upgrade to any room with an outdoor tub (booked the Santa Lucia Studio with King Bed), and mentioned that we were bringing our dog. I never got a response or acknowledgement that they received my message, but the day of check-in, the app said we were upgraded to the Vineyard Oak Studio with King and Outdoor Tub. When I physically checked in, the FD agent thanked me for booking via FHR and for being a Globalist and went over both benefits. When we got to the room, there was a dog bed, bowls, and a treat inside, as well as, a card with my name on it and a bottle of pinot noir. I will leave the details about the stay out and save it for the property's thread, but despite minor inconveniences, the trip was great. On the way out, I stopped by the Lodge to make sure everything settled correctly. Breakfast charges and resort fees were removed and the $100 property credit was applied. I also only got two qualifying nights, but that was expected.
