Do all check-in kiosks print bag tags these days? If they do, there is really zero reason then to show up before T-46 assuming you're checked-in, not worried about TSA lines, etc.?
I wish I wasn't cutting it this close sometimes. The check in kiosks do print, however that isn't guaranteed. In large airports with 10+ kiosks, it's less of a risk. In smaller ones, you can get hosed.
The craziest thing I ever did (and so, so lucky) was buy a ticket at T30 with a checked bag. Not sure how the lead GA pulled it off, but that bailed out the giant idiot who was out waaaay too late the night before.
