I can see this both ways. On one hand ringing the call button that many times could be considered excessive for what we have come to expect DL service in J to be like. On the other hand, it could be representative of simply the customer expecting service beyond the aforementioned “norm” - and given the high J fares DL is charging for often mediocre service that’s not unreasonable.
US carriers have sadly transitioned to the call button being for more of an emergency use than for service. Just as the seatbelt sign is being used for every single bump.
Last month on AA during boarding my husband found a wallet in his seat back and promptly pressed the call bell. It was ignored until we finally flagged an FA down who took it with a sigh and an eye roll.
We have two D1 tickets next week (at $8K each) and I’m hoping the service will be better than past experiences, but I’m not holding my breath. It’s a shame we’ve come to accept that level of service standard.
While I’m sympathetic that a ringing bell was bothersome to OP, not encouraging it’s use further detracts from the value of J.
