If the sound of the call button bothers you, you should invest in a pair of noise canceling headphones or ear plugs.

This thread reiterates the silly notion here in the US that the call button is for emergencies only, causing OP to even think that this was an issue worth starting a thread over. Meanwhile in the rest of the world, it is very normal to press the call button for service however many times is necessary. If the crew isn't coming through the aisles often, how else are you supposed to get their attention? Imagine paying $5K+ for a ticket and having to walk up to the galley to get a drink or snack.
