I remember flying Delta in F as far back as 1984. Their service in F set the standard: your glass was always refilled without you having to ask. Service was effortless and really great.

If you are in J on a longhaul flight, you are entitled to this type of service. It costs the airline next to nothing (they paid pennies for the makings of a drink for which they charge $9 in Y). It is all a matter of attitude. Age is not a consideration; I've had some pretty fantastic FAs who have been employed by Delta for decades.
