Courtyard By Marriott Budapest City Center, Hungary [Master Thread]

Courtyard Budapest small review as I stayed there recently.

PROS:
1. Location is good but not amazing. You can walk to the river in ~15 minutes but the Marriott has a far better location (if you want to swing the higher cost)
2. Elite recognition: was upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite the morning of my arrival (based on what the app showed). Arrival was smooth and standard. I asked about a bottle of water in the room but they offered me a large one from the market complimentary.
3. AMB welcome gift was brought to the room after I went upstairs. It included two mini cheese scones (home made I believe) and a glass bottle of what looked like tap water. Definitely the worst welcome gift of the trip I took but still a nice gesture.
4. It was quiet in the room and I could make the curtains block all light. This makes me happy.
5. Plat and higher get a free drink coupon for their signature drink (which totally reminds me of the Moxy brand). The drink was some gin/champagne/fruit juice thing. I don't drink gin or champagne so I passed. They were also offering a hibiscus lemonade which didn't appeal to me either. Again, nice gesture. Just not for me.

CONS:
1. The furniture in the room is very dated and looking ratty.
2. Breakfast was not comped for me. Instead they said the $10 F/B credit would go towards the cost of breakfast meaning I had to pay 7 euro. Unlike Courtyard Belgrade who lowered the cost of breakfast to be covered by the F/B credit, Budapest does not.

I would stay here again because the price was right. Staff is also very friendly and accommodating.
