I recently had a stay on points, where I spent almost $3k on hotel expenses - meals, diving, spa, etc. Of course I spent zero for the room. I was expecting points to credit for my cash spend at the hotel, but none did. When I got on the chat with Hilton I was told it's because my room was booked with points, so "if you want points you have to spend money". Ummmm.....I did spend money. According to this rep, because I didn't pay for the room nothing else matters and I get zero points on my entire spend. I did a quick google and it looks like I should get points on my hotel non-room spend.

I'm sure someone here knows the right answer to this one....do I get points on the money I spent at the hotel ,for hotel services, or does the fact that I stayed on points disqualify me for points earning on my additional spend? Thanks in advance.
