Years and years ago, in the America West days, I visited the building where Central Baggage was located. The stench as you approached the door was horrible! I didn't go inside, but looked through a window.


I remember that the City of Tempe gave America West some tax incentives to build their new HQ building in downtown Tempe around 2002-3. Part of the agreement involved keeping a specific number of employees in that building. I remember after the AA-US merger reading how they were moving CS and some IT people over, to avoid having to pay back those tax incentives (since most corporate functions moved to Texas). I wonder if the time ran out, or if they were otherwise able to get out of that agreement.
