How’s everyone doing?

So Marriott has just released their new global promotion where in members get extra 1000 points per eligible night AND one elite night qualification per night.

I already have 5 nights booked which I understand with this promotion will get me to Silver before the end of April.

I have found some pretty good deals for mid April for 3 nights around the UK (I work remotely and at home) and thinking of booking them. Just an additional question, once I reach Silver after 10 nights, will my new status be valid for the rest of this year AND next year? Also, what will happen to the extra nights after qualifying? Will they count towards Gold or be carried over next year if I don’t reach Gold this year?
