Is Prepaid an option anymore for the Big 3 Chinese carriers? It seems every plan now has a monthly fee and is effectively postpaid?

Pre-pandemic I had a prepaid SIM that I put some money on years ago but worked fine for my trips for 3 years. I'd like to have a local number because a lot of stuff requires it such as connecting to WiFi or signing up for accounts/memberships. I didn't mind throwing like $20 USD at it years ago but now it seems you need to put a lot down and deal with monthly fees....
