Few, if any, pax select B/E international because of its superior service when compared to other carriers. Most of the non-US carriers offer a premium service product, and many (including our friends at AF) offer, or are rolling out, flat beds in J.
Try BA, VS or SQ in J to Europe, and you'll think of DL B/E more as economy plus.
This is exactly the feedback Delta received on the international questionnaire they asked me to complete.
A lack of innovation and investment has driven away their premium passengers and resulted in them being forced to compete with low-lost carriers. Now they have flagship overhead and discount product. I won't even use my Skymiles for DL international unless their is no choice and I no longer purchase their BizElite product.
