My birthday was this past weekend and I flew with my girlfriend to Washington D.C. for a quick weekend visit. Started out with a four hour delay on the beginning of the trip which was frustrating....but very pleasantly surprised this evening when the FA working my exit row came over before departure on ORD-MCI and wished me a happy birthday. She offered us whatever we would like to drink and she was able to find an Old Fashioned mix which she brought over, along with a hand written card signed by the crew, a few moments later. This is not the first time I have flown on/around my birthday, but this was the first time I've experienced such a gesture from the crew and it was very much appreciated.
