We have 3 players ( P3 doesn't travel so we use the points/miles) and I only used emailers or mailers sent to one of the 3..............as stated above any mailer could be used multiple times.

From what I remember people who were making fake accounts were also making up a new email address and using fake addresses so unless Citi is supplying AA with the mailer codes used to apply I have no idea how AA would have any idea who was doing this.

I kept our balances and AA account numbers just in case.

P1 lost about 900K miles ( not giving exact numbers as I'm sure that can be traced) maybe 1/3 were from the mailers, remember US air merged with AA and we loaded up on US air miles before the merger.

P2 lost about 500K

For some reason P3 never lost any of the ~ 600K miles and yes, I burned them all flying P1 and P2 but never attached a AA number ( I have created a new AA account but it only has a few miles just to see what happens as they said we could not be AA members again) to any reservation.

I hope the lawyers involved realize there were a LOT of people effected by this.

Lets also not forget AA PROFITED by selling those miles to Citi then rendered them useless...........not a bad cash making scam.
