The diversion to Shannon was also necessary due to Storm Isha, so it is a matter outside of the airlie's control and so the delay on your KL1089 to Cork is also not covered.
Not that it's probably any consolation, but the earlier flight you missed last Tuesday - KL1085 to Cork - was also diverted to SNN.

It does not matter whether you're booked under the operating airline's flightcode or any codeshare partner's flightcode; all that matters is the identity of the operating airline. In this case, Delta is a non-community carrier, and that remains the case even if booked under a KL- or AF- flight code.

Thanks IrishGuy28 for the explanation and also the link to the Flight check website.
After doing a bit of research, you confirmed what I thought.
My only (false) hopes were the facts that:
A) There seems to be some confusion and miscommunication when it comes to Code Shares
B) The flight to my final destination was on KLM metal.

Not to worry - we live and learn.
Thank again!
