I asked Customer Care about this when I noticed it earlier this month. They replied that as far as they know, they are not getting rid of DirecTV "at this time". Didn't answer my more specific question about the looping movies.
Subsequently have noticed it again so it does seem to be an ongoing thing regardless of what the email agents say.
I can almost guarantee customer care knows absolutely nothing about DTV status. That's not what they do. They'll make something up just to get rid of you - the response is about as generic as one can get when they don't know. You're wasting your time contacting customer care about issues like this. Seriously.
