It’s been a while since I’ve used Avíos, but I remember award availability wasn’t always there for the flight or dates I wanted. I assume the award fares were tied to a discount bucket. Delta seems willing to convert higher fare classes to an award price, when other airlines with fixed awards would just show no inventory.
