I had dinner at
The Argentina Steakhouse this evening. I have to say that the meal was a welcome change from the standard travel dining consisting of national chain steakhouses that serve average meat. I am not certain that the beef is from Argentina but the setting and ambiance is suppose to reflect this.
Dining was peaceful with some Jazz music playing in the background. I chose the Porterhouse and was pleased that the selection was Prime grade. The steak was cooked to order and the condiments were a nice touch (rolls, garlic butter and 3 selections of spreads, salad, entrée and vegetables). I would have preferred a thicker steak, as I always do. The steak was very flavorful and needed no additional artificial flavoring as the chain restaurants often do. Dinner will be in the upper $20s to just over $30 for the Prime Steaks.
There were other selections but I did not look at those as I wanted a steak. While this location might pale in ambiance to one of my favorite locations,
The Buenos Aires Grill in Seattle, The Argentina Steakhouse was quite nice. To find a place like this in the middle of the Midwest, where Ribs, down home cooking and a wide variety of chain restaurants can be found a plenty, is certainly a delight. When in Springfield, please try The Argentina Steakhouse for a nice change.
