When to ask for upgrade (with cash or miles) ?
Hi,
I booked Economy Classic from Seattle to London for 37500 miles + $455, for 2 adults and 1 child. I wanted to do Premium and 66,000 points are something I can easily do, but it also asks for $1358 taxes.
I was checking past posts regarding upgrades to get an idea, but it looks like it varies much.
- If I want to ask for upgrade from VS (by cash or miles), will it be good time to call them before 24 hours or once I reach boarding counter on day of travel?
- If I get upgrade option with cash, will it less than $1358 for three of us (in general) ? I am just trying to keep my expectations right :-)
Please suggest.
PS. It is for 14th March.
