I actually ended up booking my stay here after all because I was able to get a BRG rate of $188. All other Marriott hotels downtown were either sold out or $400+ and without a car I didn't have a lot of options. At check in no upgrade was offered. They gave me a room on the 9th floor (the lowest floor out of 70) I asked if they had a room on a higher floor but the answer was no.The hotel ended up being sold out because of the Lions game, but still - nothing higher than the 9th floor for a Titanium member?

There were huge lineups at check in and it took about 15 minutes to check in. Some people must have had even longer waits because they delivered a letter under the door overnight apologizing for the long waits at check in and offering to discuss with anyone that wanted to complain. The breakfast was decent enough and the restaurant space is quite nice. At the rate I paid, I would probably stay again but not at full price rates.
