Customer service tries to help, but wasn't effective. In any case, that is not how roaming is supposed to be; if you need to make it work first using another connection, then what's the point? Can you land and check your connecting gate information? Not yet.
That certainly makes sense as we all have different objectives.

My primary goal was to have roaming voice service that was decent quality with a minimum of bother. I already had good, included data service built into my T-Mobile account on several lines. The US Mobile line has tested well so far for the compliment to my data feature. With a non roaming USM (Warp 5G/Verizon) line for voice over IMS with TM roaming data it was easy to set up and use. I merely needed the Country Code and number for dialing anywhere in the world, free of fees. While in Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore I made about 15 calls to closed businesses like airlines I suspected had lengthy automated message centers. I tested the numeric inputs and voice quality and found them to be accurate, with good voice quality.

Here is a setup summary: US Mobile Free IMS (Dual Sim)

International Voice Roaming
  1. Set US Mobile Warp 5G line as your voice line.
  2. Set your native voice line or roaming data sim as your data service.
  3. Connect to roaming data service on data line. Check that voice line reads “Using Cellular Data“ in the Status Bar. This can take a few moments to switch from “No Service” displayed.
  4. USM line should now have free voice service to foreign voice numbers over IMS.
