Welcome to Flyertalk!
I don’t know the answer. Logically, I would have thought that connections from non-Schengen to non-Schengen don’t require security and passport checks (maybe with the exception of connections to flights to US destinations). But FRA always manages to surprise me.
I thought maybe the FRA website would have a convenient connection tool where you just put in the flight you arrive on and the one you depart on, and it would tell you how to traverse the airport. But no, doesn’t seem to exist.
But I did find this page:
https://www.frankfurt-airport.com/en...ng-at-fra.html
and it has this interesting blurb:
”
In most cases, you must clear security checks on your way through the airport. Please allow enough time for them. Also please observe the restrictions on carrying liquids and gels into the aircraft cabin. Please note that you may not carry liquids bought in duty free shops at airports outside the EU when flying from Frankfurt Airport. This also applies to any duty-free items that you have bought on board a non-EU airline.”
So if that is true, you may not bring your UK duty free wines onto your connecting flight. Perhaps because they do plan to send you through a security checkpoint - why else would they care?
